### Demo consultation, in brief
A 104-second general-medicine OPD consultation: a 32-year-old man with three days of fever, dry cough, body ache and headache; a home temperature reading of 101 °F; no medical history and no known drug allergies. Examination finds a slight fever and a red throat. The doctor's provisional diagnosis is a viral infection (ICD-10 B34.9), prescribes Paracetamol, a cough syrup and an antihistamine — naming no dose — advises fluids and rest, offers a CBC now, and asks for a blood test only if the fever does not settle in two days.

## How AI MediScribe works
1. The doctor consults normally — no dictation voice, no keywords, no pauses. The consultation happens in a regional language, English, or both mixed in one sentence.
2. Speaker diarization separates the doctor's turns from the patient's, so history is attributed to the patient and the plan to the doctor.
3. A structured English draft is written: chief complaint, history of present illness, past history, examination, provisional diagnosis with an ICD-10 code, prescription, investigations, advice, instructions and follow-up.
4. The doctor reviews, corrects and saves. The draft fills empty fields only; nothing is saved automatically.

## What AI MediScribe deliberately does not do
- It does not invent a dose, frequency or duration. If the doctor did not say it, the field reads "confirm" and the draft lists it under "Check before saving". In the demo, three medicines are named without doses and all nine of those cells say "confirm".
- It does not overwrite anything already on the form. Vitals entered by a nurse at triage are left untouched when the draft is applied.
- It does not order a test that was only discussed conditionally. Such tests are listed as "discussed — not ordered".
- It does not diagnose. The provisional diagnosis is the doctor's own, coded to ICD-10 for billing and reporting.
- It does not save or sign a note. The doctor remains the author.

## Deployment, data residency and compliance
- Patient data is hosted in India.
- Processing happens only under written contracts, aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).
- On-premise deployment is available for hospitals — including government and military facilities — that cannot send patient data to a cloud service.
